Paracetamol and ibuprofen are some of the most trusted over-the-counter painkillers. Paracetamol lowers fever and soothes mild headaches; ibuprofen tackles inflammation from muscle strains or dental work. Follow the package dose exactly usually one to two tablets every six to eight hours and never exceed the stated daily maximum. Taking more does not speed relief; it strains the liver or stomach instead.
A single glass of beer or wine can magnify ibuprofen’s risk of stomach bleeding and undermine paracetamol’s liver safety margin. If you plan to drink, choose one: either skip alcohol entirely or delay your next pain-relief dose for at least six hours. Always read combination cold-and-flu products; many already contain paracetamol and may double your intake by accident.
